Thrifting in Spokane

A few days ago, I listed my dining set for sale on facebook and a good friend of mine, Windie, bought it. I decided to deliver it to Cheney for her so that I would have an excuse to go shopping. I was so excited to visit all of my favorite thrift stores and a few new ones I had never been to. I wanted to go to PINK, which is a newer store downtown, but they were closed, sad day.  My next stop was at ROOST, on main, and I saw tons of things I loved. #1 Painted chandelier light fixtures- the brighter the color, the better they are!, #2 The adorable barn pillow-if I had a little boys room, this would be in it and #3 A wall of corrugated metal-I have been wanting to do this in our house for sooo long.  My next stop was to the International District on Sprague, where they gave me this handy-dandy little map. I found a store I had never been to and was so pleased...Vintage Warehouse! They had everything from vintage clothes to over sized neon letters (and very affordable). I proceeded to hit up a few more thrift stores and then finished the day off with a mini Cinabon, um mm!

Here are a few of the treasures I picked up to makeover; orange chair, chandelier, two matching lamps with crystals (they desperately need new shades), mirror, and not pictured is my favorite purchase, a fake tinsel log fireplace-the orange light bulb gives off such a warm glow...hahaha

A Guy Cake

You know how a lot of the cake decorating ideas you see would be great for a girl's cake, well here is a sweet guy's cake. I made this cupcake cake quite a long time ago for my older brother's birthday but I thought I'd post the pictures. He loves playing pool so this was perfect and really easy to do. I even had a que ball with some blue chalk marks on it (looks like it didn't make it in the picture).

Happy Customer

Check out what a creative customer of ours did with the lockers she purchased at the Farm Chicks Show.  I had a hard time parting with these lockers because they were soo my style, (you know brown, rusty, vintage...all the things I love) but I am happy to see they went to a good home!

Be sure to check out her blog www.barnchixx.blogspot.com

My 1964 Aloha...whoot whoot!!

Super excited to be the very proud owner of this little 12ft fixer-upper! I have been wanting a vintage camper for way too long and I finally got one. My husband thinks I'm crazy, what's new, but I can not wait to dive in. It's got a little water damage, a few bee's nests and a lot of work ahead of it. At the Farm Chicks Show earlier this month, I bought some vintage bark cloth from the fabric booth in Bay 1 for curtains, throw pillows and who knows what else. I'm hooked on looking at other vintage campers online and the Vintage Bag Lady of Cheney has some great pictures...Looks SOO fun! Check out her blog. http://cheneybaglady.blogspot.com/2011/06/farm-chicks-weekend.html
Hopefully I'll get this project started soon so I can post more pictures. Happy Camping!

FARM CHICKS: PART 2

Here are some pictures of other booths that I just LOVED!  As you can probably tell from the pictures, put a plant in anything and I am sold! Garden Party had an amazing set-up, very botanical and dreamy.  The one thing that I loved and am mad I didn't get a picture of is Funky Junk's pick-up bed shelf, but I did snag me a t-shirt with a vintage camper on it.

Black, White, Yellow...Looking good ROOST...Love their store!
This is a table my husband wanted me to buy but we missed out, sad.
LOVE the bike sign

The Farm Chicks 2012

BU2ful and Farmhouse Charm had an AMAZING time at The Farm Chicks Show in Spokane, WA this past weekend!

I have never seen so many people in my life, the crowd was record breaking on Saturday with over 6,000 shoppers walking through the doors!

Our booth # ended up being 79 93 (sorry about that), a BIG thank you to all of our friends and family who stopped by to say hi.  We were also blessed to have amazing neighbors ( http://www.forgetmenotdreams.blogspot.com/ )beside and across from us. Here are a few snaps of our booth, we had to remodel on the second day and I ended up liking the bike display the best.

Farm Chicks #79

We spent all night last night packing the trailer and we are ready to head to Spokane.  We are so excited to be a part of the Farm Chicks show for the first time, oh, and by excited I mean a little lot nervous. This is a shot of the trailer late last night but we still have more to fit in, like the big 'ol lockers.  And would you look at these super-cute sold signs I made (all Elaine's idea).
And just as a little something fun, anyone that mentions our blog or this post will get a free gift at our booth, #79! Cannot wait to see everyone there!!!

BU2ful Farmhouse Market...SUCCESS

Thank you everyone who attended the BU2ful Farmhouse Spring Market!  We had a great time and met a ton of super cute, fun people with minds like ours. We were nervous to host our first market but after the first rush our nerves were settled and then I looked at the clock and realized it wasn't even 9:00 (opening time)! As the day went on, Elaine and I were overwhelmed with people asking us if we were going to have the market again, well...yes we are, with more advertising and more treasures. Here are a few pics that I had to take with my phone, forgot the camera...sorry.

Re-used Muse

I have this very talented friend, Wendy, and she does some pretty amazing work.  She has the ability to transform pictures, paper, stamps and well, pretty much anything into amazing greeting cards and collages.  For my wedding I asked for a special order of cards made with peacock feather, greens, browns and a little turquoise and, boy, did she deliver. All of my wedding party received one-of-a-kind cards that they loved.  Her goods will be available on Saturday at the BU2ful Farmhouse Market just in time to grab a Mother's and Father's Day card.
